Who is Mr. SIC ILL?

Hi class, my name is Mr. SIC ILL aka Mr. Jackson

I will be your graphic design instructor. Before I begin the lesson I
want to tell you how enthusiatic I am about graphic design and show
you a few examples of some works.

I started doing graphics on mspaint. I learned basic cut and paste,
but thats about advanced as it got.

I didn't get interested into actual graphic design until I started
doing music professionally and needed an album cover. I was working at
Taco Bell on 6th ave and I eventually saved up enough to get my album
cover and cd cover by a professional artist. I went to a local graphic
artist name 3rd Eye Dezine, he made my first graphic work.

SIC ILL - 3RD EYE DEZINE

He's pretty good and I was really impressed by the work he did. I
always drew and knew about computers so I thought it would be a nice
transition.

A little bit after that I started a local rap group called Darxiide.
We had a studio but all we had were the mp3s.. We still needed
graphics for covers, youtube, myspace. I volunteered to handle the
graphics. That started me on my graphic design journey 5 years ago nd
I haven't stopped since. The group eventually broke-up, but I still
had those skills and it would lnd me all sorts of jobs, and helped me
start my web design career, my book career, I use graphic design on my
videography. Alot of graphic design skills you need for photography.
But my main reason for graphic design is for flyers creation. I make
atleast 4,5 designs a month on flyers and album covers.

Because of my experience in graphic design It made me create better
videos nd give me an edge on competition and I eventually started
working for Cash Money Records & Bad Boy Entertainment and met  bunch
of famous people just because I started my graphic design journey and
I'm not special, It was just preparation meeting opportunity.

Besides my own work, I like to study other peoples graphic
design, from cereal boxes, to shirts, to buildings, to websites, you
can pretty much see good examples of graphic design all over the
place.

Lesson 1: GOOD VS BAD GRAPHIC DESIGN

Lesson 1: GOOD VS BAD GRAPHIC DESIGN

from wikipedia.org

Graphic design is a creative process—most often involving a client and a designer and usually completed in conjunction with producers of form (i.e., printers, signmakers, etc.)—undertaken in order to convey a specific message (or messages) to a targeted audience. The term "graphic design" can also refer to a number of artistic and professional disciplines that focus on visual communication and presentation. The field as a whole is also often referred to as Visual Communication or Communication Design. Various methods are used to create and combine words, symbols, and images to create a visual representation of ideas and messages. A graphic designer may use a combination of typography, visual arts and page layout techniques to produce the final result. Graphic design often refers to both the process (designing) by which the communication is created and the products (designs) which are generated.
